Context
A UK government agency (SC-cleared engagement) required modernisation of their application delivery infrastructure to support Java/Spring-based microservices with zero-downtime deployment capabilities across AWS and on-premises environments.
Challenge
Design and implement fully automated Blue/Green deployment models with Continuous Delivery and PaaS-driven Java/Spring microservices architecture, including DBaaS technologies for PostgreSQL and MySQL, across both vSphere and AWS platforms.
Approach
Implemented Blue/Green deployment automation with Docker-based PaaS microservices. Designed Infrastructure-as-a-Service capability using Puppet, R10k, Foreman, and Docker across vSphere (vCenter and vCloud Director) and AWS platforms. Architected ChatOps-based development and test platforms using Puppet, RSpec, Docker, and Slack. Provided consultancy and mentoring across multiple DevOps teams.
